CA Insurance Tracker is an independent information site. It is not owned by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any insurance company, the California Department of Insurance (CDI), CAL FIRE, or the California FAIR Plan Association.
We are not an insurance licensee
We are not an insurance company, agent, or broker, and we do not hold a California insurance license. We do not sell, solicit, negotiate, quote, or recommend insurance. Nothing on this site is insurance advice or a quote. Any estimates or figures are general information from public data. For advice about a specific property or policy, contact a licensed agent or broker.
Data sources and dates
Figures come from public sources and may be out of date or contain errors:
- CA FAIR Plan residential policy counts as of June 30, 2026 (published July 2026), and fiscal-year counts as of Sept 30, 2021–2025.
- CA Department of Insurance voluntary-market new, renewed, and non-renewed policy data for calendar years 2020–2023 (latest published).
- Insurer statuses (paused or restricted new homeowners policies) are maintained by hand from public announcements and news reports, last reviewed 2026-10-16. Insurer positions change often; confirm with the insurer or a licensed agent.
- Natural hazard summaries are area-level only and are not a Natural Hazard Disclosure report.

How we make money
The site may earn money in these ways:
- Flat per-click fees when you click certain links to third-party sites.
- Flat per-lead fees when you choose to request quotes from licensed providers through a partner form.
- Advertising shown on the site.
These fees are fixed amounts. We are never paid based on whether you buy a policy, which policy you buy, or its price. As of this page's date, no affiliate or partner links are live.
No paid placement in the status table
No insurer pays to be included, excluded, or ranked in the insurer status table or any data on this site. Statuses reflect public sources only.
Newsletter and privacy
If you sign up for the monthly update, your email address is collected and stored by our newsletter provider, Beehiiv, and used only to send the newsletter and related updates. We do not sell your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Beehiiv's handling of data is described in its own privacy policy. The site also uses Vercel Web Analytics, which measures page views without cookies.
